鈴木おさむの人間観「人間は自分の考えが正義と思ってる」（日刊ゲンダイDIGITAL）

「ＷＯＷＯＷオリジナルドラマ＋舞台」の連動プロジェクト「ワケあって火星に住みました～エラバレシ４ニン～」がスタートする。ドラマはオムニバス形式で全６話（第１回は本日・２４日深夜０時～、ＷＯＷＯＷプライム）。ストーリーは実在する「火星移住プロジェクト」をもとにしたシチュエーションコメディー。脚本・演出を手がけたのは、放送作家の鈴木おさむ（４７）だ。

　―――独特な設定ですね。


「実際アメリカでは『火星移住プロジェクト』は実在していて、かなりの数の応募があり、何十年後かには現実の話になるそうです。最初に話をもらった時、そこに応募してくる人はどんな人たちなんだろう、そういうシチュエーションになったらどうなるんだろうと考えてみたら、自分自身ワクワクしたというのがありますね」


　――ラボではまず、火星に移住する４人を選ぶため、年齢、性別、職業がバラバラの２４人が４人ずつ６組に分かれて共同生活することになります。


「最初に６つの話（ラボ）の主人公を決めたんですよ。三ツ星シェフ（仲村トオル）、クイズ王（要潤）、アパレルデザイナー（広末涼子）、カメラメーカー勤務（矢本悠馬）、作曲家（斎藤工）、元バンドマンの医者（三浦翔平）と。それに加えてそれぞれ別の３人が関係してくる。全員女性とか、ネガティブな人ばかりが揃うとか。そこで各ラボで騒動が起きるんですけど、とにかく十分なリアリティーを持たせて２４人のキャラクターを描くことに苦労しました。今まで書いてきた中で一番大変だったかも知れない。書いてるうちに、これは別々の作家がやるべきことなんじゃないかとだんだん腹が立ってきたりしてね（笑い）」
　――２４人分の人物設定をするのは大変そうです。


「でも結局、人間って、誰もが生きてると何らかの“ワケ”を抱えてるじゃないですか。片道切符で閉ざされた空間の中で、それがだんだんとあぶり出されてくるんじゃないかと。シェアハウスなんかだと、一緒に住んでてもお互いに自分のことはあまり話さないけど、ここではそういうわけにはいかない。そうなったときに何が起こるのかなって」


　――ある意味、究極の状態ですね。


「どんな状況であれ、人間って、最後は自分、自分の考えが大事なんじゃないかと。極端な例で言えば『世界平和が大事』って大きなことを言ってても、それはあくまで自分の考えにすぎないし。相手はそれを認めてくれなかったとしても、誰もが自分の考えは正義だと思っているんです。ここに出てくる人はみんなそんな人たちです」


　――それが舞台につながっていくわけですね。


「２４人から４人が選ばれて火星に移住し、人類の未来を託されるわけですが、ドラマ、舞台とも、お互いのラボの話が少しつながっていたり、ひっかけやトリックがあったり、楽しんでもらえると思います。一人で全部書いたので“怒りのパワー”でいろんな仕掛けができました（笑い）」
